" Often in recent years people have asked me, 'what is the hardest, most dangerous climb you have ever made?' They expect me to say Everest, but it is not Everest. It is Nanda Devi East. "- Tenzing Norgay, Man of Everest

In May 2013, a very small group of mountaineers from India will make an attempt to reach the summit of a mountain known to the world as Nanda Devi East. Not to prove any point, neither to show off, but to follow the footsteps of generations of pioneer climbers and explorers. A tribute to the spirit of adventure that lives on and continues to inspire.

    1. No Tenzing Norgay did not traverse. But in 1951, he climbed Nanda Devi East with a French expedition that tried to traverse the two summits. He was part of the team that were supposed to receive the traverse party ( consisting to 2 French alpinists, Duplat and Vignes) at the Longstaff's Col. Duplat and Vignes vanished without a trace from the ridge joining the main summit with the east. Tenzing and party, while anxiously waiting for the traverse team to arrive, climbed the East summit in the process of a search attempt.
